Eye Contact~

Its offical…
We’ve lost the ability to properly socialize with one another…

Ever since we were young we’ve been told to look directly at someone when talking to them. But in reality, its different…

With the many advances of technology such as the Internet, ipods and other social websites, young people never get a chance to fully develop this skill anymore… I mean, why would they when all it takes is a few seconds to find out what your friends had for breakfast this morning by checking his Twitter.

They call it “Ambient Awareness”: by following these quick, abbreviated status reports from friends, you get a strangely satisfying glimpse of their daily routines without even having to ask them.

Sadly, computers, cellphones or social media site are no substitute for experiencing an actual face-to-face conversation with another human being…

Socializing is becoming a lost art. It’s being reformed by all of society’s distracting technologies. But I’m not suggesting that people don’t know how to communicate face-to-face anymore… I’m suggesting that they’ve forgotten how to appreciate it…

Seeing a smile up close, the body’s subtle movements, facial expressions, Eye contact… you can never get the same attractive effect from one’s eye contact over the phone, or through text msg~

One of the most powerful forms of communication is interpreted from one’s eyes & if you really pay attention to a person’s gaze.. you can tell alot about what that person is trying to convey through his/her social cues, no matter how subtle they are..

Do a little experiment, go to the mirror and look at yourself looking  back at you.. you will see how powerful a grip your own eyes have over you.
Recall how intensly they stare back at you and remember how disconcerting they can be, even though they are your own to begin with…

“How could you have recognized me if you did not look at me? If only you knew, my angel, what unforgivable rudeness it is to not look at the person to whom you are talking~”
